Anointing of Jesus

Okay, so you know how sometimes people get a special oil put on their heads when they do something important or become leaders? Well, the anointing of Jesus is like that but more special.

It happened a long time ago when Jesus was alive. One day, a lady named Mary came to Jesus and she had a jar of really expensive perfume. She poured the perfume all over Jesus’ feet and then wiped them with her hair.

This was a big deal because that perfume was worth a lot of money and Mary was using it all on Jesus. It was like she was showing him how much she loved and respected him.

Then, some other people who were watching got upset because they thought it was a waste of good perfume. But Jesus explained that Mary was doing something very special by anointing him with the perfume.

He said that it was like she was preparing him for something big, like a king being anointed before his coronation. Jesus knew that he had a big job to do and that he wouldn’t be around forever, so Mary’s anointing was like a special gift to help him on his journey.

And that’s why the anointing of Jesus is important because it shows how special he was and how much he was loved and supported.
