Anomic aphasia is when someone has trouble remembering the names of things. Imagine if you went to play with your toys but you couldn't remember which toy was called what. You might try to describe the toy to someone else so they could help you figure out its name. That's what someone with anomic aphasia does - they have trouble finding the right word to name something. Sometimes they can describe the thing, like saying "the round, red fruit that grows on trees" instead of "apple." It's like their brain has lost the label for things, but they can still understand what the things are and how to use them.
