Antiphonary

An antiphonary is a big book of music that is used in certain religious ceremonies. It's called an antiphonary because it has lots of antiphons in it. Antiphons are little bits of music that are sung or chanted by a choir, and they're usually based on verses from the Bible.

The book is usually made to be really beautiful, with fancy drawings and gold decorations. It's also very big and heavy because it has so many pages.

When the choir sings from the antiphonary, they usually do it in a call-and-response way. That means that one part of the choir sings a bit of the antiphon, and then another part sings a different bit in response. This keeps going back and forth until they finish the whole antiphon.

Using an antiphonary is a way for people to come together and worship in a very special and beautiful way.
