Gregorian chant

Gregorian chant is a type of singing that was developed a very long time ago in the Catholic Church. It is named after Pope Gregory I, who was the pope from 590 to 604 AD.

The singing is done in a special way that follows specific rules. It is sung in Latin, which is an old language that was spoken a long time ago. People who sing Gregorian chant use their voices to make beautiful melodies that are very different from the music we hear on the radio today.

Sometimes the singing is done by just one person, and sometimes it's done by a group of people. The words they sing are usually from the Bible and are very important to the Catholic Church.

Even though it may seem old-fashioned, people still love to listen to and sing Gregorian chant today!
