Antithesis

Antithesis is when we use words or phrases that are opposite to each other to make a contrast or a comparison. Imagine you are playing with building blocks and you have two blocks that are very different from each other: one is big and the other is small. This is like antithesis in language because we use different words to talk about things that are very different from each other - like big and small, love and hate, light and dark. We use antithesis to make our writing more interesting and to help us explain things better. It's kind of like showing a picture of two things that are very different from each other so we can understand them better.
