Anxiety disorder

Anxiety disorder is when someone feels very scared or worried about things that might happen, even if there's no real danger. Sometimes, people feel anxious before a big test at school or a big game, and that's normal. But when someone has anxiety disorder, they feel anxious all the time, even when they're just doing regular things like going to school or hanging out with friends.

It's like having a bunch of monsters inside of your brain that make you feel scared and worried. These monsters can make you feel like you're in danger, even if you're perfectly safe. They might make your heart race or make it hard to breathe. They might make you feel like you need to run away or hide. It's not fun.

But the good news is that lots of people have anxiety disorder, and there are ways to make those monsters smaller and easier to deal with. Some people see a special doctor called a therapist who helps them learn ways to feel less scared and worried. Other people might take medicine that helps calm those monsters down. And some people might do special exercises, like yoga or deep breathing, to feel more calm and relaxed.

Having anxiety disorder doesn't mean that someone is broken or weak. It just means that their brain works a little differently, and that's okay. With help, anyone can learn to manage their anxiety and live a happy, healthy life.
