ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Application service provider

An application service provider (ASP) is like a computer store. They provide services, like web hosting, software, and data storage, to people over the internet. They are like an online store, where instead of buying physical products like computers or video games, you can "buy" software and storage space with your credit card. With ASPs, you can quickly access the services you need without having to buy, install, or maintain things yourself.
