Applied linguistics

Applied linguistics is the study of how language is used in the real world and how people use, understand and learn language. It looks at how we use language in everyday life and how language can be used to help people learn and communicate better. Applied linguistics is used to help people learn languages, to help people use language more effectively, and to help people understand language better.
