ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Aqiqah

Okay kiddo, so aqiqah is a special celebration for when a new baby is born. It's like a party where the baby's family and friends come together to eat yummy food and celebrate the baby's arrival.

During the party, the family also sacrifices an animal, like a goat or sheep, and shares the meat with their loved ones. This is called the aqiqah sacrifice.

The idea behind this is to thank Allah (God) for the new baby and to share the joy with others. It's like saying, "Hey, we are so happy to have this new little person in our lives, let's celebrate!"

This tradition is often done by Muslim families around the world, and it's a way to honor the baby and show gratitude for the blessings they bring.
