ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Archaeological forgery

Archaeological forgery is when someone makes something old that is actually very new. It's like making a fake dinosaur bone or ancient pot. People might do this to try to trick others into thinking something is valuable or important when it really isn't. It's like pretending to be someone else or lying about something. It isn't fair to people who are trying to learn about history or study artifacts because they are getting the wrong information. Just like how it's not fair to pretend to be someone you're not. That's why it's important to always be honest and truthful about things.
