Armour is like a special shield that people wear to help protect them from getting hurt. Think of it as like wearing a really tough and strong outfit made out of special materials that can help stop bad things from hurting you.

In the olden days, knights wore armour made out of metal plates to protect themselves when they went to battle. Nowadays, people in jobs where they might get hurt, like police officers or soldiers, wear special armour too. This can be things like bulletproof vests that protect them from bullets, or helmets that protect their heads.

Armour is important because it can help keep people safe even when they are doing dangerous things. So, just like when you wear a helmet when riding your bike, people who might be in danger wear armour to keep them safe.
