Arranged marriages in India are marriages where families choose the husband and wife for their children, rather than the children choosing who they want to marry. In some cultures, the parents will interview potential partners and decide who their child should marry. In other cultures, the children may meet in person once or even not at all, and the parents will make the decision for them. Sometimes other factors, such as caste and religion, are taken into consideration when making a decision about who to marry. Either way, the parents will usually talk to each other and agree on the couple before the marriage takes place.
