ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Arrow slit

Imagine you live in a big castle, with big walls to keep you safe. You want to be able to see who is coming towards your castle without letting them in. That's where an arrow slit comes in handy!

An arrow slit is a skinny window-like hole that is made in the walls of a castle. It is usually long and narrow, so it's hard for enemies to shoot things into the castle, but easy for people inside to shoot things out.

The arrow slit helps protect the castle by making it hard for enemies to get inside. The people inside the castle can see who is coming to attack without getting hurt themselves. They can use their weapons to defend the castle without being vulnerable to the enemy.

So, an arrow slit is like a secret spy window that helps keep people safe in their castle!
