Artificial insemination

Artificial insemination is a way to help animals and humans who want to have a baby but can't do it naturally. It's like magic!

Basically, when a mommy and daddy want to have a baby, the daddy's sperm goes inside the mommy's body and meets her egg. But sometimes, the sperm has trouble getting to the egg or there is no daddy. That's where artificial insemination comes in.

With artificial insemination, the sperm and the egg are still together, but they get some help. A special doctor or a farmer (depending on if we're talking about humans or animals) takes the sperm - which has the daddy's DNA - and puts it into the mommy's body, or directly into the mommy's egg.

This way, the sperm can still join with the egg and make a baby. And that baby will still have the daddy's DNA!

It's kind of like a special delivery service for the sperm. Instead of the sperm having to swim long and hard to get to the egg, the sperm gets a ride right to the egg. So it's easier for the sperm and the egg to make a baby.

And that's how artificial insemination works, in a very simple way.
