Asbestos abatement

The workers will typically wear special suits and masks to protect themselves, as well. They carefully remove any asbestos-containing materials, like insulation or tiles, and put them in special containers. These containers are then taken to a hazardous waste facility for proper disposal.

Finally, the area is thoroughly cleaned to ensure there is no remaining asbestos, and then it can be reoccupied. The entire process can take a long time and be expensive, but it's necessary for keeping people safe from the dangers of asbestos.
