The Asilomar Conference on Beneficial AI was a meeting of experts held in February 2017 at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California. The purpose of the meeting was for experts to come together to discuss artificial intelligence (AI), or computers that can think and act like humans. The participants wanted to make sure that AI technology is used for good and doesn't cause any problems for people. The experts discussed the benefits and risks of using AI, and how it could be used for good. They also discussed how AI should be regulated, so that it is used in an ethical manner. They wanted to make sure that AI is used to help people and not cause harm. They discussed how AI can help improve our lives in many different ways, such as health care, education, transportation, and more. At the end of the conference, they agreed on 23 principles to help guide AI research and development.
