Astur-cantabrian wars
Ok kiddo, so a long, long time ago in a place called Spain, there were two groups of people called the Asturians and the Cantabrians. They didn't always get along and sometimes they fought each other.
These fights were called the Astur-Cantabrian Wars. The Asturians lived in a place called Asturias and the Cantabrians in a place called Cantabria. They were both really proud of where they came from.
The fighting started because they both wanted control over some land in the middle. They didn't want to share it with each other, so they went to war.
They fought with swords and shields and sometimes used horses to ride into battle. It was a very difficult and dangerous time for them.
The wars went on for a long time and happened on and off. Sometimes one group would win and sometimes the other. But eventually, the Asturians took control of the land and the Cantabrians became part of their kingdom.
Now, many years later, people in Asturias and Cantabria are friends and work together. They still remember their history and the wars that happened, but they don't fight each other anymore.
