Audio processing unit

An Audio Processing Unit (or APU) is a type of computer chip that is used to generate or edit sound. They are used in many different kinds of digital audio devices, like video cameras, video game consoles, laptops, and smartphones. They enable computers to record and playback sound. Audio Processing Units can change the pitch or speed of sound, add special effects like reverb or echo, and combine multiple sounds into one sound.
