ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Available water capacity

Available water capacity is the amount of water that a place on the Earth can hold inside itself. It's like a big bowl with lots of water inside it. Depending on where you are, the bowl might be a lake, a river, a stream, or even underground in the ground. All that water adds up to the available water capacity of that place. So if it rains a lot, then the bowl will get really full and that means more available water capacity. Having available water capacity is important because it allows us to use the water to drink, cook, bathe, and more.
