Awake, My Soul: The Story of the Sacred Harp
Once upon a time, people wanted to sing songs that made them feel really good inside. They started singing a special kind of music called "Sacred Harp."
This music was special because it had really beautiful melodies and the words were all about how great and powerful God is.
But making this music wasn't easy. People had to learn how to sing it really well, and they needed to have the right kind of music book (called a "Sacred Harp" book) to know which notes to sing.
Over time, more and more people started singing this music and they even had big singing competitions called "Conventions" to show off their skills.
And even though times changed and people started listening to different kinds of music, many people still love singing Sacred Harp music because it feels like it touches their souls and brings them closer to God.
