Baptism

Baptism is something Christians do to make a public promise to follow the teachings of Jesus. It happens when a person stands in a special pool of water and a pastor pours or splashes water over their head. This is a symbol that the person's old life is gone and a new life is beginning. After the water is poured or splashed, the pastor might say special words that make the person part of the Christian faith.
