Bare root

Alright kiddo, do you know what roots are? They're the parts of a plant that grow under the ground and help it get the water and nutrients it needs to grow. Well, sometimes we buy plants that don't have any dirt around their roots. These are called bare root plants.

When you get a bare root plant, it might look like a bunch of sticks with roots hanging off of them. But don't worry, that's normal! These plants are just dormant, which means they're kind of sleeping and not actively growing right now.

Now, why would we want a bare root plant instead of one that already has dirt around its roots? Well, first of all, they're usually a lot cheaper. And secondly, they're easier to ship and store because they don't need as much space.

When you get a bare root plant, you'll want to make sure you plant it right away. First, you'll need to soak the roots in water for a little bit to help them wake up. Then you can plant it just like you would any other plant, except you'll need to make sure the roots are buried in soil and water it really well.

And that's it! With a little bit of care and attention, your bare root plant will start to wake up and grow into a big, beautiful plant that you can be proud of.
