Bark scale

Bark scale is a way that people who study sound use to measure how high or low a sound is. Just like when you step on a scale to see how heavy you are, a bark scale measures how high or low a sound is. But instead of measuring weight, it measures a sound's pitch.

So imagine you hear a really low sound, like a big truck rumbling down the street. That sound would have a really low pitch and would be on the lower end of the bark scale. Now imagine you hear a bird singing really high notes. That sound would have a really high pitch and would be on the higher end of the bark scale.

The bark scale helps scientists and musicians understand and describe different sounds. It's like having a special ruler just for measuring pitch, so people can communicate about sound more easily.
