Base station

A base station is like a big radio tower that people use to make phone calls and connect to the internet wirelessly. Just like a radio station broadcasts music and news to your radio, a base station broadcasts signals to your phone or computer so you can make calls or browse the internet without wires. A base station is usually located on top of a tall building or a mountain to help the signals travel far and wide. It's kind of like having a really strong walkie-talkie that can talk to other walkie-talkies far away. So, when you use your phone or computer to call or browse the internet, you're actually using a base station to do it!
