Basque witch trials

Hey kiddo! So, a long, long time ago in a place called Basque, some people were accused of doing bad things like using magic to harm others. These were called the Basque witch trials.

Now, these people who were accused were mostly women and they were not really doing anything bad at all. But there were some people who didn't like them and wanted them to be punished. So, they accused them of doing bad things.

Even though there was no proof that they were doing any magic or harming anyone, they were still punished. This is not fair, right?

Sadly, this happened for many years and many innocent people were punished. Nowadays, we know that magic isn't real and nobody should be punished for things they didn't do. We should always be fair and kind to others regardless of our differences.
