Being and Nothingness is a philosophical book written by French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre. In this book, Sartre talks about how people are both beings and nothingness. He means that people are both something (a being) and nothing at the same time – they have the ability to exist and also the possibility of not existing. He believes that our existence is a choice and that we should strive to be the best that we can be by acting in accordance with our own unique way of being. He also believes that each person has the power to create themselves and make their own meaning in life.
