Besshatyr Burial Ground

Besshatyr burial ground is a place where people who lived a long, long time ago in a country called Kazakhstan buried their loved ones who had died. Imagine a big, open field with lots of little hills all over it. Each hill is actually a grave where someone was buried.

Inside these graves, the people put things that they thought the person would need in the afterlife. They would put food, clothes, and even things like musical instruments or weapons. They would also put beautiful decorations on the outside of the graves, like carvings and paintings, to make them look nice.

Today, people still visit Besshatyr burial ground to see these old graves and learn about the people who were buried there a long, long time ago. It's like a museum where you can look at things that are very, very old and learn about the history of Kazakhstan.
