Big government

Big government is when the people in charge of running a country or a state make lots of rules and have lots of people working for them to make sure everything runs smoothly. Imagine it like a really big playground with lots of adults watching over the kids to make sure everyone follows the rules.

Sometimes people don't like big government because they might think that the rules are too strict and they don't have enough freedom. Other people think big government is good because it can help make sure everyone gets treated fairly and gets what they need. It's kind of like having a parent who makes sure you brush your teeth and eat your vegetables even when you don't want to.
