Biodegradable additives

Okay kiddo, so you know how we use a lot of plastic things in our daily lives like straws, bags, and cups? Well, even though they are very useful, they can also cause a lot of harm to our environment if not disposed of properly.

That’s where biodegradable additives come in. Biodegradable means something can be broken down into natural materials by living things like bacteria and fungi. So, biodegradable additives are special chemicals that can be added to plastic products to help them break down more easily in the environment.

These additives basically make it easier for living things to eat away at the plastic and turn it into something else. Eventually, the plastic breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces until it becomes part of the soil.

This is really important because plastic waste can stay in the environment for hundreds of years, causing harm to wildlife and polluting our world. But with the help of biodegradable additives, we can make plastic products that will break down much faster and not cause as much harm to our planet.
