Biological control

Okay, so you know how sometimes there are pests in our gardens or on our crops that eat all the plants and make them sick? Well, there are some bugs and animals that actually like to eat those pests!

Scientists and farmers use these helpful bugs and animals to control the pests and keep our plants healthy. This is called biological control because we are using natural living things to control other living things.

For example, ladybugs like to eat aphids, which are little green bugs that like to eat plants. So if a farmer has an aphid problem, they can release a bunch of ladybugs into their garden to eat the aphids and save the plants.

This method is much better than using pesticides, which are chemicals that can be harmful to other animals and the environment. Plus, biological control is more sustainable because it is using nature to solve a problem, rather than relying on chemicals.
