ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bit slip

A bit slip is a mistake that can happen when computers are transmitting information over the internet. It's like when we are sending a letter in the mail and accidentally write the wrong address on the envelope. With computers, instead of letters, they send numbers, called "bits". A bit slip happens when one or more of these bits isn't accurate and it arrives at the wrong place. This can cause things like websites to appear wrong on our computer or an online game to stop working.
