Bituminous waterproofing

Bituminous waterproofing is like putting a really thick coat of special black goo on top of a roof or a building to keep water from getting inside.

Think about when you go outside to play in the rain with a raincoat on. The raincoat keeps you dry because the water doesn’t soak through the fabric. Bituminous waterproofing is like a raincoat for buildings.

The goo that is used for bituminous waterproofing is made from a type of oil called bitumen or asphalt. This oil is mixed with other special ingredients that help make it really sticky and thick.

When the goo is put on a roof or building, it creates a layer of protection that stops water from going through. This is important because water can cause a lot of damage to a building if it gets inside.

So, bituminous waterproofing is like putting on a super strong raincoat for buildings to keep them safe and dry!
