Blood and Soil

Blood and soil is a set of beliefs that some people have about their relationship to the land where they live. People with this belief think that the land and the blood (ancestry) of the people who live on it are linked - that when a person's ancestors have been living on the land for a long time, then that person has a special connection to it. They also believe that it's important to protect the land and to make sure it stays in their family, so that it can be enjoyed by future generations. This can mean that people of the same family or ethnic group should not be displaced from the land, and that it should remain in the same family or group over a long period of time.
