Blue hour

Have you ever noticed that the sky looks really pretty and blue just before the sun comes up in the morning or just after the sun goes down in the evening? This time is called the blue hour!

During the day, the sun shines down on us and lights up everything around us. But when the sun starts to go down, the sky changes color because the light from the sun is bouncing off the Earth and into the sky. This makes the sky look blue for a little while, which is why it's called the blue hour!

The blue hour doesn't last very long, only about 20 to 30 minutes, but it's a beautiful time of day to take pictures or just enjoy the peacefulness of the moment. So next time you wake up early or stay out late, look up and see if you can spot the blue hour!
