Bone conduction auditory brainstem response

Do you know what bones are? They are the hard parts of our body that make up our skeletons.

Now, have you ever heard of sound? It's what we hear when someone talks, or when music plays.

Well, bone conduction auditory brainstem response is like hearing sound through the bones in our head instead of through our ears.

When we hear sound normally, it goes through our outer ear, then our middle ear, and finally our inner ear where it is processed by our brain. But when we use bone conduction, we skip the outer and middle ears and instead send the sound waves directly to our inner ear through the bones in our head.

Scientists can measure how our brain reacts to this type of sound by using a special test called the bone conduction auditory brainstem response. It helps them see if there are any problems with how our brain processes sound, especially in people who may have hearing loss.

So, think of it like listening to music with headphones on, but instead of the sound going into your ears, it's going through your skull!
