ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Braiding

Braiding is when you take three (or more) pieces of hair, ribbon, or string and weave them together in a special way to make a pretty pattern. It's like making a friendship bracelet, but with hair!

First, you take a tiny section of hair and divide it into three pieces. Then, you take the piece on the left and cross it over the middle piece. Next, you take the piece on the right and cross it over the new middle piece. Repeat this pattern, crossing left over middle, then right over middle, until you reach the end of the hair.

If you want to make more complicated braids, you can add more pieces of hair or change the way you cross them over each other. You can do this by crossing two pieces over one, or even making a braid that wraps around your head like a crown!

Braiding can be a fun way to style your hair and keep it from getting tangled. Plus, it looks really cool once you get the hang of it!
