Braising is a way of cooking food slowly in liquid. It's like a big hug for your food! First, we take some yummy meat, like a big piece of chicken or beef. Then we put it in a hot pan with a little oil and let it get brown and crispy on the outside.
Next, we add some veggies like carrots and onions and garlic to the pan. They're like the friends that come over to hang out with our meat. We let them cook for a little bit until they start to get soft and smell really good.
Then we add some liquid to the pan, like chicken broth or wine or even just water. This is like the blanket that we wrap our meat and veggies in. We put a lid on the pan and cook it on low heat for a loooong time.
The liquid turns into a yummy sauce and the meat gets really tender and falls apart when we try to cut it. It's like a delicious warm hug for our tummies!
