British Empire

The British Empire was a group of countries, colonies and lands all around the world that were ruled by the King or Queen of Britain. Britain ruled all these places and the people who lived in them. It meant that Britain decided how they were run and that they had to follow British laws. People from all around the world moved to the British Empire and some even called it home. The British Empire was very big and powerful and it ruled over many people across the world, lasting for almost 200 years.
