British quarrying and mining narrow-gauge railways

Okay, so first let's talk about quarries and mining. These are places where people go to get big rocks or minerals out of the ground. The rocks or minerals are then used for building things or making stuff like jewelry.

Now, to get those rocks or minerals out of the ground, people need to use big machines that can move them. But sometimes, those machines can't fit on regular train tracks because they're too big or the tracks are too narrow.

That's where British quarrying and mining narrow-gauge railways come in! These are special train tracks that are smaller and narrower than regular ones. The trains that run on these tracks are also smaller and can fit in tight spaces where bigger machines can't.

These narrow-gauge railways were used a lot in the past when people relied more on mining and quarrying to make things. And even though we use other methods now, some places still use these railways to get the job done!
