ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Buddhapālita

Buddhapālita was a very smart man who lived a long, long time ago in a place called India. He was very interested in studying something called Buddhism, which is a way of thinking about how to be a good person and live a happy life.

Buddhapālita was so smart that he figured out a way to explain the teachings of Buddhism in a way that was easy for other people to understand. He wrote a book called the Abhidharmakośabhāṣya, which is a really big and complicated word that just means "a book that explains the Buddhist teachings in detail."

This book became very famous and lots of other people who were studying Buddhism used it to learn more about what it all meant. Buddhapālita's ideas helped people understand how to be kind and compassionate to others, and how to find inner peace and happiness.

Even though he lived a really long time ago, Buddhapālita's ideas are still really important to people today who want to understand Buddhism and live a good life.
