Burr Truss

Okay kiddo, so you know how sometimes we build things like houses or bridges out of wood or metal? Well, when we build these things, we want to make sure they are strong and won't fall down.

A burr truss is a special way to build something like a bridge using lots of little pieces of wood. It's called a burr truss because it kind of looks like a bunch of little burrs (you know, those prickly things that stick to your clothes when you run through a field!)

So how does a burr truss work? Well, each little piece of wood is carefully cut and shaped so that it fits perfectly with the others. They are all wedged together so tightly that they can support a lot of weight without breaking.

Think about it like building with Legos. You know how if you stack a bunch of Legos on top of each other, they might wobble and fall over? But if you lock them all together in just the right way, they can make a really strong structure.

That's what a burr truss does - each little piece of wood supports the others so that the whole thing is really strong. It's kind of like a big puzzle made out of wood!
