ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bus factor

Bus factor is about how important people are in a team or organization. It describes what would happen if a key person in the team (like the driver of a bus) suddenly leaves. Would the team still be able to get where it needs to go or would it suddenly be stuck? If the team would be stuck without them, it means the bus factor for that person is high. This means that the team should try to make sure there are other people who know how to do the same job, just in case the key person ever leaves. That way the team won't suddenly be stuck without them.
