ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

CJK characters

CJK characters are a special type of characters used in written languages like Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese. They look like little drawings of things and the word CJK stands for "Chinese, Japanese, and Korean". They are used to spell out words, express emotions, and even show the tone of a conversation. CJK characters can be tricky to learn to read and write because there are so many of them and they look very different depending on which language you're using.
