Cable barrier

A cable barrier is like a big rope that keeps cars from going off the road.

Sometimes when people are driving, they lose control of their car and go off the road. This can be very dangerous for the driver and anyone else who might be around.

But with a cable barrier, if a car goes off the road, the cable will stop it from going too far. The cable is made from strong metal that can hold a lot of weight. It's attached to big posts that are stuck deep into the ground so they don't move.

So if a car hits the cable barrier, the cable will stop it from going off the road completely. The car might get a little banged up, but it's much safer than if it had gone off the road completely.

That's why you'll see cable barriers on some roads and highways where there are a lot of curves or places where it might be easy for a car to go off the road. It's a way to help keep everyone who's driving safe.
