ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cafres

Cafres are people from the Caribbean islands of Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and other nearby places who have moved to the United States. They come to the United States for many different reasons - some come for better job opportunities and a higher chance of success, some come to be with family already in the United States, and some come to escape bad situations at home. Cafres are people who have left their home countries to live in the United States and they often have a different culture and language.
