Cagot

Cagots were people who were treated unfairly a long time ago in some parts of Europe. They were seen as different and not good enough because they had a different job and were born into certain families. They had to live separately from other people and some places even made them wear different clothes or shave their heads. They were not allowed to marry people who were not also cagots and they could not eat in the same restaurants or sit in the same part of church as other people. This was very mean and wrong, and luckily it doesn't happen anymore. We should always treat everyone with kindness and respect, no matter what they look like or where they come from.
