Cailleach

Cailleach is a word that comes from Scotland and Ireland and means an old woman or a hag. She's often considered a goddess or a supernatural being who has control over the elements of nature.

She's believed to be the older version of the goddess known as Brigid, who was honored during the spring and summer months. Cailleach, on the other hand, was honored during the fall and winter months.

One of the stories about Cailleach is that she's responsible for creating the land and the mountains. It's said that she would carve out valleys and rivers with her staff, and sing songs that would cause the earth to shake and move.

Another story about Cailleach is that she controls the weather. She's believed to hold the power to bring snow, hail, and winter storms, and would use this power to protect her people from invaders.

Cailleach is often depicted with a blue-grey face and long white hair. She's known for her wisdom and the ability to bring fertility to the land. So, in a way, she's like a wise old grandmother who has the power to shape the world around her.
