ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Canadian sovereignty

Canadian sovereignty is like when you have your own bedroom and you get to make the rules for it. Canada is like a big bedroom, but instead of just one person, lots of people live there. All those people together decide what the rules are for their bedroom, which is the country of Canada.

In Canada, they have their own government and laws that only apply to their country. They can make their own decisions about things like healthcare, education, and the environment, without having to ask permission from other countries.

However, Canada is still part of the world and has to work with other countries sometimes. But even when they work with other countries, Canada can still make their own decisions about what is best for their country.

So, Canadian sovereignty is like having your own bedroom and being the boss of it, but also knowing that you are part of a big family and need to work together with them sometimes.
