Cancer in dogs

Okay kiddo, so cancer is when bad cells in your body grow out of control and can make you really sick. Dogs can get cancer too, just like people can.

The cells in your body usually grow and divide in a normal, organized way. But sometimes, something happens that makes them start growing out of control. These abnormal cells can form a lump or tumor, and this is called cancer.

There are many different types of cancer that dogs can get. Some are more common than others. Some types of cancer can be treated with medicine, like chemotherapy or radiation. Other types of cancer may need surgery to remove the tumor.

It’s important to know that not all tumors are cancerous. Some tumors are just benign, which means they aren’t cancer and won’t spread to other parts of the body. But other tumors can be malignant, which means they are cancer and can spread to other parts of the body.

That’s why it’s important for dogs to have regular check-ups with the veterinarian, so that they can catch any cancer early on and treat it before it gets worse. And we can also help prevent cancer in dogs by making sure they have a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and avoid exposure to harmful chemicals or substances.

So, always make sure to give your furry friend lots of love and care, and take them to the vet for regular check-ups to keep them healthy and happy!
