ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Carbon neutral

Okay kiddo, let me explain carbon neutral to you!

You know how when we do certain activities, like driving a car or using electricity, they release something called "carbon emissions" into the air? Well, those emissions actually contribute to something called "climate change" which isn't good for the planet.

So, to be "carbon neutral" means that we take steps to balance out those carbon emissions so that we're not contributing to climate change!

It's kind of like taking away as much as we give. For example, if we put out 10 units of carbon emissions by driving a car, we can "neutralize" those 10 units of emissions by doing something to help the environment, like planting trees or investing in renewable energy projects. That way, we're not adding any extra harm to the environment!

So, being carbon neutral is really important because it helps us take care of the planet we live on!
